This licence describes the default permitted use of CAD and DWG files downloaded from OpenCADFiles. If an individual file page displays different licence terms, the individual notice takes priority.
You May
- Use eligible files in personal, academic, professional, and commercial design projects.
- Edit geometry, layers, dimensions, annotations, colours, and other file elements for your project.
- Include the resulting design in drawings, presentations, renders, permit sets, specifications, and client deliverables.
- Keep reasonable internal and project backups.
You May Not
- Sell, sublicense, upload, share, or redistribute the original file or a lightly modified version as a standalone CAD resource.
- Bundle the files into another CAD library, download site, marketplace product, dataset, or subscription.
- Use automated scraping or bulk-download systems to reproduce the OpenCADFiles collection.
- Claim authorship or ownership of an original file when you did not create it.
- Remove an attribution or licence notice that is included with a specific file.
Attribution
Attribution to OpenCADFiles is appreciated. Attribution is required only when an individual file or included notice specifically says that it is required.
Third-Party Rights
Product names, trademarks, designs, and other third-party material may remain the property of their respective owners. This licence does not grant rights to third-party trademarks, patented designs, or other protected material.
Professional and Safety Review
Files may contain errors or may not match local codes, dimensions, units, accessibility requirements, or project conditions. You are responsible for checking and approving every file before professional, construction, manufacturing, or safety-critical use.
